So far we heard from Slim - whom we met at Whiskey Dicks in El Paso and Guy - the cute guy at Imperial Beach. Guy is coming to Connecticut this summer and wants to meet up with us. Slim on the other hand is planning a week long cowboy run (something he does for disabled or troubled children). I guess if I have to hold Judy's hand everywhere we go (lol) and she wants to do this, well I better saddle up and take the horse by the reigns.
Today we took horse back riding lessons in Milford and I, yes once again signed the DEATH contract and saddled up. The thing is Connecticut is so controlling with laws. You have to where a helmet. Judy hated that with a passion. Nothing like the freedom of real texas riding huh. This time I did cones, and trotting and all kinds of neat weaves in and out but GOD knows I had enough practice weaving the cones on the HWY for 100's of miles. Was a tiny weird not having Jersey barriers in the arena though. lol. So. case and point....you learn something new every day and go ahead and take that adventure, may change your life or give you something new to try. JUDY my friend thanks for yelling at me the second I drove up. I missed you!!! lol and P.S. Any pointers on thigh gear?? youza. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHA! See you all in NYC on Tuesday to meet up with yet another 8th grade friend. VICTORIA WE ARE COMING!

I just love that last pic of you,Jules...that's the REAL DEAL!! Yes...there are my lemons...the freaking state of Ct., it's stifling taxes and laws....although I'm not a fan of motorcyles, helmet laws SUCK!!! Time to move! Hey Jules, the Lexus handles a little easier than J.J. ,no??? Only pointer for sore legs and ass is keep doing it!!! Maybe you'll get your first lope next week....yeeeeha!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for our NYC adventure w/Victoria and Fraser...and of course we get to meet Vicky's beautiful daughter.
FYI...in many states, the "Death Contract" you have to sign...which facinates me, states that you understand: Horseback riding is the ONLY sport in which a much smaller mammal "attempts" to control and force his will upon a much larger mammal.....and that horses are very unpredictable animals...yada, yada, yada...I've come to learn this is a direct result of too many people claiming they have experience and suing as a result of injuries sustained due to the lack of their experience...also results in MORE legislation and less ranches willing to put their necks on the proverbial chopping block...o.k. ...that's my rant for the year....LEMONADE, Yayyyy!
ReplyDeleteJudy, its all about liability you are right. People tend to feel entitled regardless of there negligence. But lets go back. WAY BACK, remember when horseys were are only transportation? I was hoping to have a chance someday to get a running start with a cowboy hat on and throw my leg over that saddle and ride like the wind. But by the time I get that good they will most likely have seat belt laws. lol
ReplyDeleteThat would be Montana girl....it still exists but the ops are far and few between...we WILL do City Slickers!!! Rollin, rollin, rollin, boy my ass is swollen!!!
